The Canada Media Fund (CMF) Slate Development Pilot Program provides financial contributions (up to $75,000) directly to Canadian production companies to concurrently develop a portfolio or "slate" of multiple projects without requiring an initial broadcaster commitment. It funds early-stage development tasks—such as research, scriptwriting, creative design, and pitch material creation—for linear audiovisual content across eligible CMF genres, including Drama, Documentary, Children and Youth, and Variety and Performing Arts.
